Kings and Queens Ball.

Well the Kings and Queens Ball was a real roaring success. We were thrilled at how many people hotfooted it along despite the weather being lovely outside and the fact that barbecues in gardens existed at the same time. Of course it was well worth it though!

Thanks go out to King Loin and his Courtly Gesture for providing their wandering minstrel-like folk music and Dr Agamemnon When for being such a marvellous host and judge of the king and queens outfit contest.

Thanks also go to Film Ficciones for providing top visuals, Tony for helping with the sound/ set up and Nerys for the flyer design.

Last but not least the cherry on the top of the cake award goes to Lady and Small who made our room look beautiful. These lovely lassies have a wee business decorating events and you can find them here:

http://ladyandsmall.wordpress.com/about/

Here are some pictures from the start of the evening to get an idea of what they did for us:

Lady and Small make their own cakes and bunting as you can see and they have lots of fun working with themes so you can imagine how much of a pleasure it was for us all!

The next Stomp will be on the 10th June. We're off to put our feet up and plan lots of fun things to do for the next one.

A bientot,

The Sugarfoot Ladies.

Sugarfoot Stomp Kings and Queens Ball. April 8th, Hare and Hounds, Birmingham.

Join us for a right rollicking ball, the most exciting royal event of the year- I think something else of a similar vein may be happening at the end of April but it slips my mind.

You'll lose your head at our next fun-fuelled frenzy. This time we invite you to come as your favourite king or queen throughout history and if your outfit impresses us then you're in for a prize...
Be imaginative, even if you come as the Lion King you'll be in the running!

We are truly excited to welcome some live medieval music of kings courtesy of Sir Loin and his Courtly Gesture.

All the best vintage songs will carry you along up until and beyond midnight. Kick-off is 8.30 pm and all for £2!

The Sugarfoot ladies,

Sugarfoot Stomp at the Flatpack Festival Birmingham

Hello Stompers,

I'm excited to announce that we have been asked to spin some tracks for the Flatpack (film) Festival on Sunday 27th March after the Mae West spectacle She Done Him Wrong.

You can enjoy Mae's acerbic put-downs and revel at this racy little number from 1933 at The Dirty End in Digbeth, for more information here is the link to the event, be sure to check out more of the festival too, it is the best thing in Birmingham in my humble opinion:

http://www.flatpackfestival.org/event/she-done-him-wrong

We will be playing some top old-timers to start off the festival close-down party. A bawdy knees-up for sure.

Designer Vintage Bridal Show

Well well well,

This past weekend was a very grand one for the Sugarfoot ladies, we had a stall at the Designer Vintage Bridal Show at Highbury Hall in Kings Heath.

There was a very good turn out and we met some lovely folk there, it was a very chilled out affair in a beautiful setting which was not ruined by the suddenly cold-turn in the weather. I attempted to take some photos of our stall but my attempts were shockingly bad, many pictures didn't make the final cut but here are the ones that did- I have altered them a little on photoshop in a vain attempt to make them look passable!

Making do and mending

This evening I am off to DJ Dorothy's house to compile the exciting packs of postcards together ready to sell this Friday.

I had a highly successful shopping trip at Express Polythene Ltd. in Digbeth, Birmingham today to get the little packs to put them in and then on my way home-wards stopped by Barry's Fabrics to pick up some wonderfully tacky heart patterned fabric which will form the basis of the drunken fumble corner.

All in all a selection of small triumphs have gathered themselves together to make this a satisying afternoon.

Welcome to the Sugarfoot Stomp blog

Howdy!

Well what can I say, now you can keep up-to-date with what the stompers are up to as we will be updating you all via the not-so-traditional format of blogging. If I could send a handwritten letter to everyone then I would and would seal it with a loving kiss but that is just not possible in 2011!
