Sugarfoot Stomp 8th Birthday Soiree next Friday 28th September.

Well it has been a fair few months but we are back to celebrate our 8th year of Stomping with a film noir twist next Friday at the Hare and Hounds in Birmingham's leafy Kings Heath and what a treat we have in store for you!

There will be a prize for the best-dressed femme fatale and heroic homme plus a competition
to see who can convincingly deliver a line from a film of our choice.

Expect a slick twist in visuals courtesy of Film Ficciones and a murderous selection of music from the 1920s to the 1960s.

It's £3 entry on the door and runs from 8.30 pm until 2.00 am.

The Digbeth Shuffle.

Last Saturday was a fun-filled affair at the Spotted Dog in Digbeth, Birmingham.

The Flatpack Festival folk very kindly asked us to play the music for the evening between an array of hot performances by 1960s dance act The Actionettes and some wonderfully quirky films including archive clips of Brummies cutting a rug throughout the ages.

Here is a link to their website with a write-up and photos.

There was lots of fancy footwork by the revellers including a very large conga line! Here is a video I made of an impromptu shuffle although you would have thought it was planned!

Hott Date Easter Eggstravaganza on the 8th April, Hare and Hounds.

Two days after our next event, Doris will be jump-starting proceedings at the Hare and Hounds, Kings Heath (our usual haunt) for the Hott Date Easter Eggstravaganza.

These events are always a lot of fun and for the first time ever, every room in the pub will be occupied by wall to wall record spinners and live musicians!

If you want to catch Doris she will be playing in the front bar at 3 pm until 5 pm, but make sure you stick around because the Hott Daters have a multitude of delights to take you well into the evening and beyond until the wee small hours.

They have given us a very nice write-up on their tumblr, check it out here:

Hope to see you at either this, our event on the 6th or even both!

Sugarfoot Stomp welcomes Play More.

Good old-fashioned fun 'n' games are in store for you if you hop, skip and jump-jive along to the next Stomp.

We will be collaborating with Play More; a Birmingham-based arts collective, promoting play for adults.

Expect such jovial activities as:

-Making your own Play More accessories at the arts and crafts table.

-Dressing up and having a memorable 'family' photo taken at the make-shift photo booth.

-Taking part in a variety of Easter themed games.

...and a whole lot more!

While all of this is going on you can enjoy the usual blend of 1920s to 1960s ear-pleasers plus an array of eye entertainment in the form of top notch visuals courtesy of Film Ficciones.

What more could you ask for this Easter?

The event will be on Friday 6th April at the Hare and Hounds Kings Heath between the hours of 8.30 pm and 2.00 am.
