Hair Do at Flatpack Festival on April 14th in association with Moving Memories Cafe

Join us as we collaborate with Flatpack Film Festival 2018 for a screening of Milos Forman's 1979 film Hair ‘the American Tribal Love-Rock Musical’ about a 'diverse sect of New York hippies resisting the draft'. The film will be on in The Mockingbird Cinema & Kitchen throughout the night, while out in the bar we will provide a soundtrack of suitably 1960s wig-out music! Optikinetic visuals courtesy of Kevin Thomas.

We are running this event in collaboration with LEAF creative arts Moving Memories Cafe project. Leaf are currently campaigning within the People's Projects Big Lottery Fund competition to run art and music sessions for isolated older people and people who have dementia.

You can vote for Moving Memories Cafe as of Monday 16th April via this link here:

Sugarfoot Stomp at Symphony Hall, Birmingham August 27th.

Firstly, let me apologise for not posting in a lonnnnnnnnng time. This is in no part due to inactivity within the Sugarfoot camp but rather my relying on Twitter to get the news out there and forgoing this blog.

This news, however, is something I had to say in more than 240 characters, which is that we will be providing music at the Ever-After Vintage Dance Spectacular at the Symphony Hall on the bank holiday Sunday, August 27th. We are joining forces with the Jim Wynn Swing Orchestra: www.jimwynnswing.co.uk while The Swing Era will be leading the dancing: www.theswingera.co.uk. This is all incredibly exciting and we are all looking forward to it very much.

More info on how to book can be found here: https://www.thsh.co.uk/event/ever-after-vintage-dance-spectacular#tab0=details

Love as always,

Sugarfoot Stomp at Bust Summer Craftacular, York Hall, London this Sunday!

DJ Dolly (a.k.a Chicks Dig Jerks) will be spinning some records this Sunday at York Hall in London's Bethnal Green. This is going to be a feast for the ears and the eyes- over 70 crafty stallholders will be there including one of my personal favourites, Rob Ryan. There will also be DIY workshops and a pop up cafe.

If that wasn't reason enough to hotfoot it down there, for the small £3 entrance fee, the first 100 shoppers will get goodie bags and will be in with the chance of winning a Tatty Devine prize.

Dolly will be djing from 12-2 pm then Piney Gir will take over the wheels of steel (2-4 pm) followed by Spinning Yarns (4-6 pm).

What a perfect way to spend a Sunday! Read more about it here:  http://bust.com/london/bust-summer-craftacular.html

Lotsa love,

DJ Doris xx

Sugarfoot Stomp Tenth Anniversary Party. 19th September. The Spotted Dog Birmingham.

Sugarfoot Stomp will be celebrating its tenth year of bringing you music, mischief and more from the 1920s to the 1960s.

This event will be extra special as we will be partaking in the Scalarama Film Festival so our visuals man; Film Ficciones will get to stretch out and have his own room showing a selection of rare 16 mm films while we get everyone fuzzy in the outdoors beer garden. We are also happy to welcome Charters and Caldicott who will be playing rare 78 records on the pub's very own gramophones.

The pub is situated at 104 Warwick Street, Digbeth, Birmingham, B12 0NH and the event will go on from 8 until late.

Not to be missed!
